Product Description

The Moccamaster was invented in 1969 by Gerard Clement Smit, who founded the Technivorm factory, which made the first Moccamaster. His goal was to brew a perfect cup of coffee. Parts are handmade, and all parts are made in Europe. Each Moccamaster is put together by hand and tested for durability. The company is still located in the heart of the Netherlands. The Specialty Coffee Association qualified it to be used in the world cup Tasters Championship. It’s a tested and tried excellent brewing system.

A Note About This Technivorm Moccamaster From Sagebrush's Owner:

As owners of a coffee company, our collection of brewers is quite extensive.  It's not only necessary to know everything about all the different ways to brew coffee, but it's something we enjoy as well. However, when it comes to our every day, first thing in the morning cup of coffee, we always turn to our Technivorm coffeepot. This machine is a true workhorse, always brewing at the exact right temperature (the #1 reason other coffee pots stop producing great coffee) in record time. Our Technivorm has lasted for years, and we have never considered anything else for the Sagebrush Shop. The good folks at Technivorm said it best when they put this quote in their marketing material:

The Technivorm Moccamaster is backed by a 5-year warranty. This should be the last coffee brewer you will ever buy, one that should last your lifetime, when cleaned and descaled properly.

KBGV Select Coffee Brewer Details:

The selector switch on the KBGV Select allows you to choose between brewing a half or full carafe. The brewing speed and hotplate temperature adjust according to your choice, brewing either amount to the golden cup standard. The brew basket automatically stops the flow of coffee when removing the carafe. All glass carafe brewers feature a hotplate with an independent heating element that holds your coffee at the perfect temperature.

1. FAST BREWING TIME

Simple to use with a quiet brew process, the KBGV Select makes a half or full carafe of coffee in 4-6 minutes.

2. CONSISTENT TEMPERATURE

The copper boiling element rapidly heats water to a brewing temperature of 196°F - 205°F and automatically shuts off when the water reservoir is empty.

3. PRECISE ENGINEERING

The boiling action moves the water up the glass tube, where it flows into the outlet arm and pulses over the brew basket, blooming the coffee grounds in a manual pour-over style.

4. OPTIMIZED COFFEE EXTRACTION

The cone-shaped brew basket steeps the coffee grounds, extracting the coffee's full flavor and maximizing its complexity, taste, and aroma.

5. INDEPENDENT HOTPLATE

The selector switch adjusts the hotplate temperature within the range of 175°F - 185°F depending on how much you brew. The brewer’s power switch and hotplate automatically shut off after 100 minutes.

Since our inception, fast free shipping has been one of our tenants as a company.  So it took a long time for me to come to a decision to eliminate the free portion of that sentence.  I know we all want free, so taking that away is putting a lot of trust in you guys to be able to understand my reasoning and trust my math.  I'm going to list a few reasons I moved away from the free shipping model all-together below.  I'd love to hear from you if you think this is a bad decision or if you appreciate me putting the shipping cost decisions in your hands.

Our Latest Analysis of April - July 2020 Deliveries Shows:

USPS:  Average Delivery is about 4 days, ~2% are taking longer than 9 days

FedEx: Average Delivery is about 3.25 days, 0.5% are taking longer than 7 days

Free is Never Really Free

Full disclosure, free shipping isn't really free shipping.  I am paying to ship you your coffee, so you're either paying for it buried in the price of the coffee beans or at the end at checkout.  I think the psychology of free shipping is that you don't end up at the checkout and find out that you need to spend another 30% to get your items.  That's a very real thing and I hope to have a simple pricing model to help you avoid that sticker shock.  Before I get there, let me tell you what I used to do.  It used to cost me about $9.00 to ship 5lbs of coffee (USPS just raised their prices...again).  So what I did was add $1.80 to each pound as I calculated the selling price.  I then had $5 shipping for under $35 orders to try to drive the customer (you) to buy about 5lbs of coffee and make the math work.

There have been several flaws with this model.  First off, it made the cost per lb look like we're WAY more expensive than other green coffee resellers in the market.  Second, it really stops working when someone orders less than 5lbs and more than 5lbs, because the cost to ship 5lbs-30lbs per pound is much less than $1.80/lb.  So it kind of narrowed our market.  Third, we have recently been able to negotiate even better rates with FedEx and blown up the $1.80/lb model.  We can now do a 2-day Padded Pak at an amazing rate and fit 10lbs in it.  THe irony of a free shipping model is that it is less transparent.  If I'm going to be completely transparent with my cost model, then you'll recognize a good deal when you see it and we're all happier.  Transparency makes the whole sales process work better.

So we now include our pricing without shipping and add it on at the end.  To help you optimize your buying experience our shipping pricing is listed below.
