Full City Plus (Dark)
Tanzanian coffees have great complexity, richness, and sweetness. After we cupped a sample, we were blown away by the complexity and full body. We love the bold, chocolate notes in this coffee, mixed with the honey-like sweetness and juicy complexity we love most from an African peaberry. This is an ideal coffee for those of you that love thinking through the flavor notes. We found that roasting this coffee dark has made it shine!
This coffee is a blend of peaberries separated out from the deliveries of various smallholder farmers who deliver their cherry to a central processing unit. This lot contains coffees from 6 AMCOS (agricultural marketing cooperative societies) in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania. The average producer owns about 0.8 hectares of land and delivers cherries the day they are harvested. The coffee is then de-pulped and fermented in tanks for a maximum of 72 hours, depending on the temperature. Then it is washed and spread to dry on raised beds for 8–12 days.
